Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Once again we enter into the Lenten season: His Passion and Resurrection are repeatedly pondered over, in order that there maybe a transformation in our lives. The Lenten season teaches us that we have a life even after death, for which the centrality is the Cross. Shall we all together ponder it over during the Lenten season?
1. Proclaiming Cross
1 Corinthians 1:18
“For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
In the midst of divisions, Apostle Paul emphasises the fact that only through the Cross of Christ, (which our Lord has accepted for all of us) we are transformed. This is what the Bible proclaims for each and everyone of us.
2. Performing Cross
When Paul writes to Ephesians, he does not stop with the proclamation of the Cross, but continues to go into highlight the performance of the Cross.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,
by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,
and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
The Cross breaks the barrier between our Lord and us, the barriers which separated us from God are broken down and we are united with the Lord in order to have a closer fellowship with God.
3. Promoting Cross
The teachings of Cross is a folly to others but to us who are being saved, it is the Power of God. When we accept teachings about the Cross, we will be elevated to become a Holy Temple because we have the access to go to the Father, and the Cross promotes us from our sinful situations to a Sacred Sanctuary.
May God help us all to ponder over the Cross which proclaims the need, performs revolutions and promotes us to be Mighty Channels of Blessings to the society.
